About this Performance
A classic Mozart program, this evening begins with the astonishing Magic Flute Overture, so concise yet rich in melody and harmony. His glorious Piano Concerto No. 23 displays the sunny disposition that is typical when Mozart wrote in the key of A major. Our soloist, Inon Barnatan, is “One of the most admired pianists of his generation” (The New York Times). To conclude, one of Mozart’s final symphonies, frequently performed, recorded, and quickly recognized.
